How To Measure And Install For A Sliding Door

Complete guide for measuring and installing screens on sliding patio doors.

STEP 1

Preparation & Clearance

Casper Disappearing Screens are custom cut and recess-mounted directly into the door jamb. Select a continuous flat surface around the entire door frame inside the door jamb.

 The surface must have at least 1” of clearance (depth) on the hinged side and 15/16” clearance on all other sides. 

STEP 2

Measure the Height

Measure the height of the door frame's mounting surface to the nearest 1/16".

Measure on the hinged side. For double doors with differing heights, note both. If the threshold is sloped, measure to the highest point and use wedge shims (not included) to ensure the track is level.

STEP 3

Measure the Width

Measure the width of the door at the TOP and BOTTOM to the nearest 1/16".

Note: If these measurements differ, always use the SMALLER of the two measurements.

STEP 4

Double check your measurements for accuracy and you are now ready to order your Casper Disappearing Screen!
